She was born in Denmark and grew up in Bangalore. Her father, the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone, is her father. From Aishwarya (2006) to Om Shanti Om (2007), her first movie, she became a big star. She has been in hit movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Padmaavat, and Piku, and has won a number of Filmfare Awards for her work.
