Alia Bhatt was ready to join Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the veteran of the major event, at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. But according to several sources, the actress has chosen to skip it given the Indo-Pak struggle.
As a Global Ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, Alia was scheduled to visit the French Riviera. She was supposed to be seen with international figures including Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Aja Naomi King, Andie MacDowell, Simone Ashley, Elle Fanning, Bebe Vio, and Yseult.

According to a source for India Today, “Alia made this choice given the border tensions. The ‘Raazi’ actor thought it inappropriate to visit Cannes at such vital moment. That does not imply she will not, though. Alia’s team is keeping a careful eye on the border situation; should it stay peaceful, she may choose a different date to go. But, at the moment, she will forgo her presence.
