Shah Rukh Khan is all ready to come back to the big screen with the Siddharth Anand-directed King following a historic 2023 with Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. The pre-production work of this action thriller is going on in full swing and the creators have assembled a strong cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat among others on board the project. King is ready to go on floors on May 18 in Mumbai, but Pinkvilla has found out exclusively that Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand have locked Deepika Padukone to play a major part in King.

Though King is ready to start on May 18 in Mumbai, Pinkvilla has learned that Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand have confirmed Deepika Padukone to play a major part in King.
According to one insider, “Shah Rukh Khan was always clear to have Deepika Padukone on board King. At first, the dates weren’t matching since Deepika was hitting the gym to return in shape and taking time off to be with the newborn child. King’s schedule lag caused the timelines to match up and she is back on board the movie. The source goes on to say that because of the scheduling issues, SRK had narrowed it down to two additional names: Kareena Kapoor Khan and Katrina Kaif to fill the above-mentioned role.

Everything has lined up nicely to have Deepika Padukone on board the movie after all the talks and shoot schedule arranging. For Deepika, it’s 10 to 12 shooting days, so it’s more of an extended cameo. Her part will be shot in October. Apart from Deepika Padukone, team King has another significant part in the movie that justifies the attendance of a senior superstar like Mr. Amitabh Bachchan; however, as of now there is no clear status-quo on the same, the source continues.
King is aiming for a spectacular release in the fourth quarter of 2026—in the range of October 1 to December 31. Once the movie goes on floors in the next month, the producers will decide the precise release date. We also learn that Anirudh has joined King to provide the background score; Sachin Jigar wrote the music for King.
