Khauf Review: If you want to watch a scary show with more than just ghosts and monsters, Khauf on Amazon Prime Video is a good choice. The supernatural and real-life issues in this Hindi web series make it both scary and thought-provoking.

A Different Kind of Horror

Khauf tells the story of Madhuri, a young woman from Delhi who moves into a hostel for women. Soon, she starts having scary and strange things happen to her. But the real scary thing isn’t ghosts; it’s the fears women have every day in a society dominated by men. “people are scarier than monsters.”

Good performances

Monika Panwar does a great job as Madhuri. She shows both the fear and strength of her character with great depth. Rajat Kapoor plays a shady hakim who plays on women’s fears, which makes the show even more tense. Another important part in the story is played by Geetanjali Kulkarni as a troubled police officer.

Themes That Hit Home

Khauf writes about more than just scary things. He writes about trauma, violence against women, and societal oppression. It uses horror to show how patriarchal structures affect the lives of women. “We have heard ‘Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai,’ but do you know ‘Darr Ke Peeche Mard Hai?'”

What the Critics Say

You don’t look for flaws in the show because you’re too interested in the different layers and subplots that each character brings to the story. Geetanjali Kulkarni plays a police officer who is looking for her missing criminal son, and Rajat Kapoor is a half-demon, half-human tantrik who needs women’s blood for black magic. The plot keeps getting more complicated!

This web series’ characters each have a different fear that you can learn more about. There is so much horror in each backstory that it’s sometimes hard to tell the difference between the good men and the bad men. Someone who seems like a good person, Nakul, is always put on a pedestal of suspicion. The scary music in the background makes it even scarier! It’s so sad that people are afraid of why he is so good.
