Complaint Filed Against Anurag Kashyap
Renowned director Anurag Kashyap has once more found himself in dispute for his latest remarks against Brahmins. Audiences strongly criticised his remarks. A complaint has now been lodged against him for his “derogatory and casteist comment” on Brahmins.
A user lately remarked on Anurag’s post, “Brahmins tumhare baap hain. Jitna tumhari unse sulgegi utna tumhari sulgaayenge. Brahmins are your fathers. The more you annoy them, the more they will burn you. Responding to the user, the director said, “Brahmin pe main mootoonga… koi problem?” I shall pee on Brahmins… any issue?
Ashutosh J. Dubey, an attorney and Head of BJP Maharashtra’s SM Legal and Advisory Department, went to X (formerly Twitter) and posted that he has lodged a complaint against him for his comments against Brahmins. Officially, I have filed a complaint with @MumbaiPolice asking for a FIR against @anuragkashyap72 for his insulting and casteist comment on the Brahmin population.
He said, “A civil society cannot tolerate such hate speech.” The law has to run its course.
I have officially submitted a complaint to @MumbaiPolice seeking registration of an FIR against @anuragkashyap72 for his derogatory and casteist remark against the Brahmin community “Brahmin pe main mootoonga .. koi problem?”

The complaint has not yet been answered by Anurag Kashyap.
For the unversed, the filmmaker recently ignited a discussion on social media by voicing his displeasure with the CBFC for postponing the release of Phule, a biographical film directed by Ananth Mahadevan. Some Brahmin groups in Maharashtra who say the project, starring Pratik Gandhi as social reformer Jyotirao Phule and Patralekhaa as Savitribai Phule, misrepresents their community have objected to it.
Anurag underlined even more the paradox of some parties vehemently opposing a film not even in the public domain. He wondered how such access was allowed prior to release and official clearance.
Following criticism of his remark, he went to Instagram to say that his daughter, family, and friends had been subjected to r*pe threats.
He said that while he supports his general article, he regrets the effect of a specific line he believes has been misread and taken out of context. He said, “The kingpins of sanskar give your daughter, family, friends, and colleagues r*pe and death threats; no action or speech is worth that.”
