Often, Aamir Khan has discussed Mahabharata, his long-held passion project. Every now and then, word about the movie surfaces only to fade away. The superstar lately discussed the film adaptation of the epic. Talking with The Hollywood Reporter not long ago, the actor revealed intentions for his next major film, where he will also act as producer. He referred to the movie, The
Mahabharat, one of his greatest aspirations, he stated, and he wishes to begin working on it this year.
Said Aamir, “I’m hoping to start work on this year.” He shared that The Mahabharat will be made in multiple parts, like the Lord of the Rings movies. But he also said it won’t start right away, as the writing will take time. “It will take a while because the writing process will take a few years,” he said.
Aamir Khan stated he is unsure whether he would act in The Mahabharat as of now. The crew will choose performers for every part depending on fit. “We’ll see who we should cast based on who’s appropriate for which part,” he clarified. He also shared that he may not direct the film himself because it’s a big project and will need several films to tell the full story. “I don’t think you can tell the Mahabharat in one film, so it will be multiple films. I am looking at the large scale.” Noting that it maybe a multi-director project, he added, “It’s too early to say, but we may need multiple directors.”
Aamir Khan was last seen on the job in Laal Singh Chadha (2022), which bombed at the movie office. Next, he will be seen Sitaare Zameen Par, a thematic follow-up to his 2007 success, Taare Zameen Par.

Directed by RS Prasanna, the movie will have Aamir feature opposite Genelia Deshmukh and reconnect with Taare Zameen Par actor Darsheel Safary. Although a premiere date has not yet been set, excitement is great as fans look forward another touching and changing movie from Aamir.
